What Is the Perfect Circle Test?

The perfect circle test is a fun challenge that measures your freehand drawing accuracy. You draw a circle around a center point on your screen — using your finger on mobile or your mouse on desktop — and the game instantly calculates how close your circle is to mathematically perfect.

Your score ranges from 0% to 100%. A score of 100% means every single point you drew is at the exact same distance from the center — a flawless circle. In practice, scores above 90% are extremely rare and impressive.

The test has been played over 46,000 times since launch. The average score is around 52%, and only about 3% of all attempts score above 90%.

Score Rankings — How Do You Compare?

94%+
Top 1% — Near Perfect
90%+
Top 3% — Incredible

How the Circle Accuracy Test Works

When you finish drawing, the algorithm analyzes your circle in three steps:

  1. Find the center — it calculates the centroid of all your drawn points
  2. Calculate average radius — the mean distance from center to each point
  3. Measure deviation — how much each point deviates from that ideal radius

Less deviation = higher score. The math is elegant: a perfect circle has zero deviation because every point sits at the same distance from center. Want the full technical breakdown? Read how we calculate accuracy.

Tips to Score Higher on the Circle Test

1. Use Your Whole Arm

Lock your wrist and draw from your shoulder. This creates a natural pivot point that produces smoother, rounder curves than wrist-only drawing.

2. Draw at Medium Speed

Too slow and you'll wobble. Too fast and you'll lose control. Find a steady, confident speed and commit to one continuous motion.

3. Close the Circle

Make sure your starting point and ending point overlap. A gap or overlap will hurt your score because it creates an area of high deviation.

4. Practice the Ghost Overlay

After your first attempt, the game shows your best circle as a faint ghost. Use it to see where you deviated most and focus on improving those sections.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a perfect circle test?

A perfect circle test measures how accurately you can draw a circle by hand without any tools. You draw a freehand circle on screen and the game calculates the deviation from a mathematically perfect circle, giving you a score from 0% to 100%.

What is a good score on the circle test?

Most people score between 40-60% on their first attempt. Above 72% is top 25%, above 81% is top 10%, above 90% is top 3%, and 94%+ puts you in the top 1% of all players.

Is it possible to get 100% on the perfect circle test?

Theoretically yes, but it's extremely rare. A 100% score means every point on your circle is at the exact same distance from center. Most top players peak around 95-97%.

Does the perfect circle test work on phones?

Yes! It works on all devices — phones, tablets, and computers. On mobile you draw with your finger, on desktop you use your mouse or trackpad.

How is the circle accuracy calculated?

The algorithm finds the average radius of your drawn circle, then measures how much each point deviates from that ideal radius. Less deviation = higher score. Full technical explanation →

Can I practice to improve my score?

Absolutely! Most players improve significantly with practice. The ghost overlay shows your previous best, so you can see exactly where to improve. Read our daily practice routine for a structured approach.
